Fraidy app how-tos
From signing in and adding items to expiry reminders, each how-to comes with an animated walkthrough to follow along.
- How to sign in to Fraidy: email, Google, Apple or guest mode Fraidy lets you sign up with email, continue with Google or Apple, or start as a guest with no account at all. How each option works, how they differ, and how to link a guest account so you never lose your data.
- How to add items in Fraidy: quick add, expiry dates and batches Add items from Quick Add on the home screen, a Quick Select category or the Inventory tab. A name and an expiry date are required. When you buy the same thing again with a different date, record it as a separate batch.
- How to add, edit and reorder categories in Fraidy Fraidy starts you off with four categories. Add your own, rename them, give them an emoji icon and drag them into order. Deleting a category never deletes the items in it.
- How to use the Fraidy shopping list: add, tick off, move to inventory The shopping list and your inventory are separate. List what you need under "To Buy", tick it off when you have it, then tap "Add to Inventory" and enter the expiry date to start reminders. Your family shares the same list.
- When does Fraidy send expiry reminders? Advance warning, what they say, and what to check Fraidy checks your inventory once a day and notifies you when an item comes within your advance-warning window (7 days by default), on the day it expires, and once it has expired. How to choose the number of days, where to find notifications, and what to check if they do not arrive.
- How to use photo recognition in Fraidy: cloud AI vs on-device Take a photo of a package and Fraidy fills in the item name and expiry date for you. Where to find photo recognition, how to use it, how cloud AI recognition differs from on-device recognition, and how to take photos that read well.
