How to sign in to Fraidy: email, Google, Apple or guest mode

Four ways to get started

All four give you exactly the same features. The only difference is how your account is kept.

Sign up with email

1. On the sign-in screen, tap “Sign up”.
2. Fill in “Your name”, “Email”, “Password” and “Confirm password”. The password needs at least 6 characters.
3. Tap “Create account”. You go straight to the home screen.

Next time, enter your email and password and tap “Log In”. If you see “This email is already registered. Please log in.”, an account with that email already exists.

Continue with Google or Apple

Tap “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”, choose your account and agree, and you are returned to Fraidy signed in. An account is created automatically the first time, so there is nothing else to fill in. If you previously signed up with the same email address, you are signed in to that existing account.

“Continue with Apple” only appears on iPhone and iPad.

Guest mode: start now, decide later

Tap “Browse first, sign up later” at the bottom of the sign-in screen to start recording straight away, without entering anything. Adding items, the shopping list, expiry reminders, photo recognition and family groups all work.

Keep in mind that a guest account belongs to this one device. If you uninstall the app or change phones, your data may be lost. If you decide to keep using Fraidy, link an account as soon as you can.

Link a guest account (your data is kept)

1. Open the “Settings” tab at the bottom.
2. Tap the profile card at the top — it reads “Guest mode · Tap to sign up and save permanently”.
3. On the profile screen, tap the “Sign Up” card to open “Link Account”.
4. Choose one:
   • “Link with Google”
   • “Link with Apple” (iPhone and iPad)
   • Under “Or sign up with email”, fill in your name, email and password, then tap “Create account & link”

Linking upgrades your current guest account into a full account in place. Every item, category, shopping-list entry and family group you already have is kept, and signing in to the same account on a new phone brings it all back.

Forgot your password

1. On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?”.
2. Enter the email you signed up with and tap “Send code”.
3. Find the 6-digit code in your inbox, then enter it with your new password to finish.

This only applies to accounts created with email. Google and Apple accounts have no Fraidy password — just sign in the same way as before.

After you sign in

A short feature introduction appears the first time you reach the home screen. To see it again, go to Settings → Preferences → “View feature intro”. A good next step is adding your first item.
